Biographical history
Monsieur André Laganière, de Grondines, né le 27 septembre 1885, exerce son mandat de militaire durant la Première guerre mondiale. Il est le fils de Félix Laganière, navigateur, et de Thaïs Trottier. Il est demeuré célibataire, seul dans sa maison du 275, 2e rang Ouest, secteur Grondines. Il est décédé subitement le 23 février 1944, à 58 ans, en pelletant la neige à son domicile.

Les documents ont été remis au CARP en août 2024 par Dominique Laganière, employée du CARP. Les photographies étaient remisées dans le grenier de la maison qu’elle a habité avec sa famille Joseph D. Laganière durant les années 1960 à 2000.

Ce fonds témoigne de l’implication militaire de monsieur André Laganière à la Première guerre mondiale. Il contient des photographies militaires et familiales et quelques écrits sentimentaux sur cartes postales. Il contient un agrandissement photo d’un groupe de militaires portant l’identification 259e Bataillon C.S.E.F. , daté du 19 décembre 1918, Willow Camp, Victoria B.-C. (unité du Corps expéditionnaire canadien pour soutenir l’intervention alliée pendant la guerre civile russe en 1918).
